Fietsen op de heide.

Vandaag ging ik, gevuld met goede moed waarvan de oorsprong mij tot op heden onbekend is, fietsen. Niet fietsen in de zin van : "he, laat ik eens gaan fietsen omdat ik aan het juk van het dagelijkse leven wil ontsnappen en mij bezinnen over de dingen des levens en het logisch positivisme", laat staan uit enig milieubewustzijn (dat laat ik over aan de verveelde huismoeders der Aarde). Ik ging fietsen met een DOEL voor ogen!

Dit doel bestond erin om in Brugge de Standaard Boekhandel te bezoeken, alwaar ik mij de redelijk geweldige boekenreeks "Humo's klassiekers van nu" zou aanschaffen, kwestie van de boekenkast een cultureel verantwoord cachet aan te meten. Na een vluchtige blik op het teletekst-weerbericht leek er geen enkele meteorologische hindernis te bespeuren die stokken in de wielen (bemerk de context-gevoeligheid!) zou kunnen steken.

Na windkracht 4 getrotseerd te hebben op de terugweg weet ik één ding: Frank Deboosere liegt. En vroeg of laat zal hij daarvoor boeten, weer of geen weer.

Je weet dat de arbeidsmarkt op de loer ligt...

...wanneer je "algemene beginselen van het Belgisch verzekeringsrecht" als verjaardagscadeau krijgt :-D

Pete Wentz: 'This could be the worst leak in the history of music'

Fall Out Boy has spoken out about the leaking of their new album 'Infinity On High'.

As previously reported, 'Infinity On High' was leaked on the internet weeks before its February 5 release date.

Speaking to NME.COM, bassist Pete Wentz declared: "This could be the worst leak in the history in music.

"This could potentially be one of the biggest leaks there is. If you think that every year computers, iPod, internet music grows exponentially and we're probably one of the biggest bands in rock music on the internet."

Wentz said he believed that the leak occurred through someone at the manufacturing plant. He said: "Our job is to put out records and tour and make music. What are we gonna do? Sit at the plant and watch everybody?

"Some guy working minimum wage, why would he care how it affects us? It's a multi-pronged thing."

The star said they talked to their label Universal about putting the album out early as a result.

"We talked to the label about putting it out this Thursday (January 25), but I don't think we're gonna do that," Wentz explained.

He added that he was unsure how it would affect the band's sales.

"It's undiscovered. A lot of people have told us we're the last band that's gonna sell records, a lot of people have told us we're gonna be the first band who does this a different way," he mused.

However, the bassist was fairly philosophical about the whole affair, adding: "It's gotten to the point where I'm like, who really cares about the first week (sales)? If people like the music then they like the music. That's the best thing about it. There's been a positive response."

- Bouncing Souls - Lean on Sheena, geweldig fijne cover van Avoid One Thing. Pretentieloze poppunk zoals het hoort. Vanop hun laatste (helaas minder fijne) plaat "The Gold record".

- Ansichtkarte, een volledig onbekend groepje uit Oostende met een fijn nummertje op myspace. Garage rock enzo.

So this is the new year...

And I don't feel any different.
